This is a new Eclipse set in Vancouver. So, here are your first look photos at this urban set! It’s definitely a city set… I’m thinking maybe a backstory… or possibly newborns.

Here they are setting up what I believe to be a rain machine. Water will come through the tube and then is dispersed through hundreds of little holes along the beam. You can see that the buildings look old and historic, and set the scene nicely for an urban set.

Here’s another shot. I believe filming will take place in the alleyway nearby. Lots of old props are being set up… very grunge, urban items like trash cans and garbage littering the  street. They were also seen painting graffiti and other enhancements to add to the set.

So that’s just a quick preview! Hopefully I have some better photos and a better set report soon. Enjoy! Please be respectful of the photos and of course the filming locations and the crew.

Can’t wait to see what Vancity Allie finds next! ohhh more pics?! And I do agree with her – PLEASE be respectful of the photos and filming locations, crew, etc. Tweeting where things are going on, giving out locations, is only hurting the actors and the movie.

Seems that the entire process — a hectic scramble that started with “Equinox” being chosen as the first single off the “New Moon” soundtrack and ended on the set of the video — happened pretty quickly … and it was all the guys in DCFC could do to keep up.

“About eight days ago, they called and were like, ‘Guess what, your song has been chosen as the first single, and now we need a video,’ ” bassist Nick Harmer laughed. “It was like a rocket ship — faster than any of us could’ve imagined.”

“It was all, like, waiting and waiting and waiting to see if it was a go, and then all of a sudden, it’s a go and all these tumblers lock into place,” guitarist Chris Walla added. “And suddenly it’s a big machine and now we’re filming a video.”

Bella’s House was wrapped up for a long time and was actually going to be disassembled and stored after New Moon, however, another production used the house and so they left it up for that and then simply wrapped it in a temperature safe ultra thick “tarp” of sorts. For a long time all you could see was the roof and the rest was plastic….beind an alarmed fence with 24 hours security and/or security cameras….. and so when they unwrapped it recently, everyone was excited to see the house and knew it would only be a matter of time before they filmed there.

There were twitter rumours of Thursday filming, then Friday then both…. twitter is such a fast form of spreading news, sadly, it often spreads the wrong “news” and only feeds gossip and incorrect information. Luckily, I always try to verify facts befor eposting or clearly state it is only speculation.

They did in fact end up filming on Friday evening only and fans were there to try and catch glimpses of their fave stars.

Reports from twitter (mostly KNOWN unreliable sources anyways)said people were calling Rob “Edward” and chasing cars – I posted earlier the importance of trying to get along and be nice as fans to other fans.

Another fan on twitter messaged me to say there were drunk people there who were too intoxicated to be out and young fans and that in total under 15 people at anyone time. Again, I wasn’t there so these are just the reports I have heard.

I was, however, on set during the set up of Bella’s house and here are some photos of the preparations….

I had a chance to see a new set being filmed for Eclipse… the scene where the newborns arrive in Forks. It’s a picturesque scene, with mountains and water framing the background of the shot, and a sparse unoccupied beach for the newborns to arrive on… then they disappear into the forest. The vampire newborns looked absolutely chilling, and their rugged military-like outfits along with steely, determined glares just added to the mood. Filmed early in the morning, this scene was designed to look as if it had been shot at night, possibly just after dusk or just before dawn.

Riley (Xavier Samuel) and Bree (Jodelle Ferland) were on set as well as a number of newborn vampires we have NEVER seen before.

I’m always amazed at what a huge production it is to film just a few seconds for these movies. Second Unit Director EJ Foerster was on set, calm but directive… doing dozens of different takes for only a couple scenes. An amazing number of people involved plus tons of equipment and hours of filming from so many different angles just to get a 5 second shot… wow. Check out all the equipment on the shore, including the scuba diving gear and the dinghys. You can also see some of the shorter fake trees they used in the foreground on the beach.
