Video Set for New Moon’s Meet Me On The Equinox

Last month, when MTV News went to the set of Death Cab for Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox” video in Toronto, one thing was clear: They were all pretty amazed to be there.

Seems that the entire process — a hectic scramble that started with “Equinox” being chosen as the first single off the “New Moon” soundtrack and ended on the set of the video — happened pretty quickly … and it was all the guys in DCFC could do to keep up.

“About eight days ago, they called and were like, ‘Guess what, your song has been chosen as the first single, and now we need a video,’ ” bassist Nick Harmer laughed. “It was like a rocket ship — faster than any of us could’ve imagined.”

“It was all, like, waiting and waiting and waiting to see if it was a go, and then all of a sudden, it’s a go and all these tumblers lock into place,” guitarist Chris Walla added. “And suddenly it’s a big machine and now we’re filming a video.”

You probably know Ok Go for the remarkable coordination they displayed in their viral video for “Here It Goes Again”–yes, they’re the treadmill dancing band. It’s high time you paid a little more attention to this Chicago quartet, however–you’ll be hearing “Shooting The Moon” on the Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack and come January 12th, 2010, they’re gifting the world with “Of the Blue Colour of the Sky.” Eloquent frontman Damian Kulash was kind enough to answer our questions about the new album, the song, and setting the mood for Twilight’s tortured couple.

Stephenie Meyer’s The Host heading to the big screen

Stephenie Meyer: I’m so excited to be working with Nick Weschler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They’ve all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we’re in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome.

If you’ve never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It’s such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I’m having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn’t take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I’m looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.

So, very exciting. Yay Host!

The Used Reveal Their Title Track On Twilight ‘New Moon’ Soundtrack!

Publicity for the Twilight sequel New Moon is heating up as the film’s release date, November 19, creeps closer.

When we spoke to Bert McCracken of The Used yesterday, he revealed that a new song of theirs entitled ‘For You I Would’ was set to be the title track!

Bert explains: “We wrote a really awesome original song for the movie.”

Bert also said that former Nine Inch Nails musician Danny Lohner produced the track.

(( Guess we have to wait until the final list comes out to confirm this for sure.
